thousands of rivers, streams, elusive flora and fauna.
The highest mountains in the world, 95% still unexplored
and most still accessible only on foot. The Himalayas
extend over 2500 kms east to west and consist of 3 parallel
ranges: The Greater Himalaya, Lesser or Central Himalaya
and the Outer or Siwalik Himalaya. These ranges pass through
Pakistan, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Garhwal,
Kumaon, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
The following form the part of the Indian Himalaya: Jammu
& Kashmir - includes Leh & Zanskar. Himachal Pradesh -
includes the valleys of Chamba, Kangra, Pangi, Lahaul,
Spiti, Kinnaur and the Simla area. Garhwal & Kumaon -
include Nanda Devi and sources of the great rivers - Yamuna
