Introduction

Tented Camp on a large river beach on the banks of the Ganga river. 28 kms upriver from Rishikesh town with large safari style tents on twin, triple or quadruple share as decided by group dynamics chaperones. There are beach games (volleyball, frisbee and one group even brought up Baseball). Swimming, Kayaking, Burma Bridge, Rock climbing and Rapelling are combined with Nature walks, birdwatching. Evenings are spent around the camp fire. Meals provided are a healthy and wholesome mix of Indian and western cuisine.

We recommend the OAI camp as the perfect introduction to the outdoors, camping, hiking and white water rafting. A closer look at nature and the environment, forests, flora, fauna, birdlife. Visits to hill villages while hiking to learn a little about their lifestyle - crops, agricultural methods, cattle, architecture, family structures etc. Understanding a little of the damages of litter, pollution and denudation. Appreciating and respecting cultural and lifestyle differences.
