Alaknanda River Expedition | Kali Sarda Expedition

Kali Sarda River Expedition

AREA: Kumaon, Uttaranchal, India
DURATION : 8-9 days
GRADE : Moderate
RIVER GRADE :
SEASON : October through April.

Demarcating Nepal and India, the Mahakali flows past a kaleidoscopic landscape. The river and our rafts flow past terraced hills of Nepal and Kumaoni villages, distinctive from each other in architecture and people. Passing thick tropical jungles, fresh water springs and streams, plantations and fig trees. Spotting Deer, Ghoral and Monkeys who come down to the banks of the river for a drink of water. Meandering past the old forgotten temples and others which are at the centre of the hub of village activity. A trip on the Kali / Sarda river offers us a variety of experiences which are impossible to savor on a drive through the countryside and the opportunity of some great mahaseer fishing.
